Did you know that the oldest Aircraft Hangar (1917) still in use in the Royal Air Force, is at RAF Leuchars, Fife?  A plaque placed on the wall reads;

 " The two double Royal Flying Corps general service aircraft sheds at RAF Leuchars are the oldest hangars in use on an operational Royal Air Force Station, or any airfield in Scotland.  They were built in 1917-18 for the Royal Naval Air Service by Messrs Melville, Dundas and Whitson of Glasgow, with timber truss roofs by the D. Anderson Company of Belfast, and have been in continuous use since before the formation of the Royal Air Force on 1st April 1918."
